The album as a whole resists categorization. It leans on an ambient / art-pop sensibility and elements of experimental pop, shaped by a minimalism that owes more to contemporary film music than to the classic singer-songwriter form. Genres dissolve, without clear belonging — simply eclectic. When the lyrics of Pustinja / The Desert mention the death of director David Lynch, it becomes clear that this album does not seek logic, but atmosphere — and that it is unafraid of darkness that arrives without explanation.
In that sense, Nježne riječi are not an escape from reality, but its diagnosis. The album offers no quick solutions or clear messages, but rather a space for active listening that demands attention, patience, and a willingness not to receive everything at once. Perhaps that is precisely why it feels so “inappropriate” for the moment in which it was created.
And for that very reason — so necessary. - Monika Nožinić, Ritam Kulture
