Sara Renar is a Zagreb-based composer, musician, performer, and interdisciplinary artist whose work merges experimental music, theatre, sound art, and multimedia performance. Trained as an architect (M.Arch, University of Zagreb) and certified electronic music producer, she brings a distinctive spatial and conceptual sensitivity to her artistic projects, which span live concerts, sound installations, radiophonic works, performance art, and cross-media collaborations.

Renar has presented more than a thousand performances across Europe and has composed music and sound design for theatre productions, contemporary dance, poetry-based performances, and multimedia exhibitions. Her wide-ranging output includes long-term collaborations with major cultural institutions, international residency programmes, and cross-disciplinary artistic research.

Her work has received numerous accolades, including the Porin Award for Best Vocal Performance, multiple Porin nominations, the RockOff Award, and jury recognition at the Poezika Festival. She was nominated twice for the Milan Mladenović Foundation Song of the Year Award and was shortlisted for the IMPALA European Independent Album of the Year for her critically acclaimed album Tišina.

Renar is a member of the Croatian Composers’ Society (HDS) and the Croatian Freelance Artists Association (HZSU).

Her artistic development has been supported by numerous prestigious international residencies, including Magic Carpets (Ukraine), Elias Canetti Institute (Bulgaria), OneBeat Balkans (Serbia), and Akademie der Künste (Germany), as well as the European i-Portunus mobility grant and the European Music Incubator scholarship.
